Algos is currently searching to fill the following openings:

  • Senior Research Associate

    Algos Preclinical Services is seeking an experienced Behavioral Pharmacologist for a full time Senior Research Associate position available in Saint Paul, MN. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years experience in a behavioral pharmacology lab, ideally in a contract research, pharmaceutical or biotech setting. The core responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Execution of contract research studies: scheduling resources, rodent surgery, rodent behavioral testing, ordering supplies, and dosing by various routes. Candidate will also be responsible for following SOPs and study protocols, data analysis and report writing.

    Education and Experience Required:
    Candidates must possess either a Bachelor of Science or a Master of Science degree in one of the following areas: Biology, Physiology, Psychology, Lab Animal Science, Neuroscience, Zoology, or other related field. Candidate must also have a minimum of 2 years of experience in small animal (specifically rodent) handling, restraint, dosing, behavioral testing and surgery techniques.
    Skills: Advanced knowledge of rodent behavioral pharmacology testing and surgery techniques in the therapeutic area of pain (inflammatory, neuropathic, arthritis and/or bone pain). Experience with mechanical hyperalgesia, cold allodynia testing and models of bone pain is highly desirable. Accurate and thorough record keeping, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, project management, ability to independently calculate data in an accurate and scientific manner, data analysis using Excel and GraphPad Prism.

    Abilities:
    The Senior Research Associate must have the ability to lift 25-50 lbs independently and be able to work in an environment where they are exposed to rodents and their dander.
