Bola Taiwo, PhD hired as Director of Physiology

Algos Preclinical Services continues to invest in critical personnel and equipment as a part of its ongoing program to enhance the company’s value proposition and as it completes its shift to a purely service based contract research organization. After significant investment in lab facilities and equipment, Algos has been able to consistently grow its pharmacology business. Algos is now able to expand its service portfolio by growing its physiology program. Dr. Dan Menard, CEO, summed it up when he said “We are leaders in behavioral pain pharmacology. It’s time to take the next step with our pain physiology group.” As a pivotal part of this initiative, Algos is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Bola Taiwo to our leadership team.  Bola’s career spans both academic and commercial research. After obtaining his PhD in pharmacology, Bola pursued postdoctoral studies in Neuroscience at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Minnesota.  His research in the academia focused on the neurobiology of pain and analgesia, neuroimmunologic regulation of pain, and neurobehavioral studies of novel compounds with central nervous system targets.  After a stint in the academia, Bola joined Guidant Corporation (now Boston Scientific) where he served as Senior Scientist and Study Director in neurostimulation. More recently, Bola served as Study Director for cardiovascular, respiratory, and CNS safety pharmacology studies at Covance.  Dr. Taiwo will lead our growing physiology group.
